Artist in The School Funded by the Alaska State Council for the Arts and Auke Bay PTA, the Artist in the The School program provides a 3-week residency for an artist at Auke Bay. In any given year, half of the school works intensively with the artist on a project, and other classes visit the artist during "studio" time to watch him or her work. A systematic rotation ensures that all children will have several opportunities, over the course of their 6 years at Auke Bay, to actively participate.
